Trends for Autumn-Winter 2015/2016: Dried Herb

Hello everyone!

Today I bring you something new: I’m a guest blogger in Zankyou Wedding !! :)

For those who don’t know about Zankyou Wedding, this is a platform that provides several online tools for wedding planning, such as wedding site, wedding list, suppliers, guest list, and the online magazine, for which I’ll be writing.

In this first phase, I’ll be collaborating with the magazine through the publication of a series of articles where I’ll be presenting the new wedding trends for autumn-winter 2015/2016, based on the colors suggested by Pantone. But… what is Pantone? - It is a question that perhaps you are asking to yourself and I’ll answer. Pantone is a world-renowned organization that has developed a well-known standard color system, used by various industry sectors, such as graphic arts, fashion and decoration.

Every year, Pantone selects a representative color, and seasonally publishes reports with new trends. In this context, in February of this year, Pantone has published a report about the new trends in colors for the autumn-winter 2015/2016, and it’s my purpose to offer you, with the Zankyou Wedding Magazine, suggestions and inspiration for weddings based on these same trends. In total, Pantone made a choice of ten colors and in order to suggest you a wide variety of ideas, I’ll be exploring those colors through a weekly article.

On Saturday, the first article inspired by the color Dried Herb was published, and it has suggestions about fashion, decoration, wedding cake design and stationery. To see and share the article, please click the following link

Besides writing the article, I also contributed offering a set of wedding stationery that I’ll describe to you.

Being Dried Herb an earthly color, it’s especially ideal for outdoors events with a rustic / country style. The wedding stationery that I had designed has a save the date, an invitation, scorts cards, menus, table number, and a thank you card. The line design is inspired on leaves of the olive and the color Dried herb was combined with white and beige in order to give it a subtle touch to the set. To give a rustic but, at the same time, an elegant aspect, I've included a very delicate texture on the leaves and the background of the stationery.
Regarding the save the date, although it’s not common in Portugal, recently some couples begins to use it. So, for those wishing to use it, the delivery of it should be done with six to eight months in advance before the wedding. In the other hand, the invitation should be delivered between six to eight weeks before the wedding.

For the reception, here is a suggestion of scort cards, menu, and table number. For those who don’t know what the scorts cards are, those cards are an alternative to the traditional placard. They consist of small cards with the guest's name, indicating the table number where the guest will be sitting. In general, these cards are placed on a table in the entry of the reception and in the guest place.

And finally, regarding the thank you cards, these are just a very personal way to help the couple to express their gratitude for those people who attended his wedding. They should contain a handwritten message by the couple and should be delivered no later than three months after the event.

I hope you’ve liked this article and the wedding stationery. Please, If you like this article, share it! :) And stay tune because this week will be publishing the next article with the following color: The Desert Sage!
